📘Biografia:
Tocando uma combinação de blues, soul e rock americano tradicional, a Mother Superior tornou-se uma banda popular no circuito das casas noturnas na área de Los Angeles, Califórnia, EUA, no final dos anos 90.
O guitarrista Jim Wilson, o baixista Marcus Blake e o baterista Jason Mackenroth lançaram vários CDs independentes durante esse período, incluindo "The Heavy Soul Experience Of Mother Superior", de 1996, "Kaleidoscope", de 1997, e "Deep", de 1998, este produzido por Henry Rollins, ícone do rock alternativo, que, na sequência, convidou a Mother Superior para juntar-se a ele numa nova encarnação da Rollins Band.
Depois de atuar como banda de apoio de Rollins em "Get Some Go Again", de 2000, a Mother Superior assinou com a Triple X e estreou na nova gravadora com um disco homônimo, em 2001. A banda logo encontrou outro benfeitor, Wayne Kramer, o lendário ex-guitarrista da MC5, que produziu o álbum "Sin", lançado em 2002 pela gravadora MuscleTone. Kramer voltou a produzir o disco "13 Violets", de 2004, emitido pela própria gravadora do grupo, Top Beat. "Moanin'" e "Three Headed Dog" chegaram em 2005 e 2007, respectivamente, seguidos, em 2008, de uma compilação, em CD e LP, de novas canções, raras performances ao vivo e versões inéditas de clássicos da banda, chamada "Grande" (Steve Huey, AllMusic; tradução livre do inglês).
